Jorge Moreno

The music hints at 50's Pop and the sound of the classic
Latin crooners, jumps forward to alternative rock and then back again.
The crisp dance beats and lush Caribbean groove, a touch of The Beatles,
but also an updated take of the traditional Cuban conga. This is the world
of singer-songwriter Jorge Moreno.
Over the past two years, life has been a whirlwind for Jorge. At the 2003
Latin Grammy Award he won the award for Best New Artist. This year, he
was not awarded, but honored, when he was asked by music legend Santana
to feature on a track with him for the upcoming movie "Dirty Dancing
2: Havana Nights".
His re-make of the Desi Arnez classic "Babalú", featured
in the CBS "I Love Lucy’s 50th Anniversary Special" Moreno
has been transforming traditional Latin music for the future. Then again,
in Jorge Moreno, the future and tradition of Latin music are never far apart.
